DAISY Award

Recipient of the DAISY Award for extraordinary nursing care after intervening in a life-threatening suicide crisis.

“One of the greatest honors of my career was receiving the DAISY Award for extraordinary nursing care. While awards are never the goal, this moment reminds me why I chose this profession—to meet people in their darkest moments with compassion, skill, and hope.”

Meet your Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Amber Bucks

(MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC)

I combine evidence-based psychiatric care with a holistic, functional medicine approach — because true healing goes beyond managing symptoms. It means understanding the why behind what you’re experiencing and addressing it at the root, not just placing a temporary fix over the surface. If you’ve been carrying things quietly… if you’ve been pushing through when no one sees it… if you’re ready for something to change — even just a little — I’m here to walk that path with you.

This work is deeply personal to me. After losing a close family member to suicide, I made a commitment: no one should feel like they have to struggle in silence. That loss shaped my mission to create a space where people feel seen, heard, and supported — without judgment and without stigma.

I have had the privilege of supporting people in some of their most vulnerable moments, including veterans, first responders and their families, healthcare professionals, and individuals navigating crisis, trauma, and major life transitions. These are the people who often carry the most — and speak about it the least. But you don’t have to be in one of these roles to belong here. I provide care for all ages and a wide range of mental health conditions, always with a trauma-informed lens.

Where clinical expertise meets compassion — and healing goes deeper than symptoms.

Because the Ones Who Save Lives Need Support Too.

Not everyone works Monday through Friday.
Neither do we.

Why This Mission Matters

How are you at homewhen your shift ends?

Your shift eventually ends. What comes home with you doesn’t have to.

At Train Your Brain Wellness, we believe healing extends far beyond symptom management. It’s about helping people reclaim their lives, strengthen their relationships, and return home with the emotional health, resilience, and presence to be the spouse, parent, partner, family member, and friend they want to be. From Survival to Healing.

How are you when your shift ends?

This Mission is deeply personal to me.

Having grown up in a family of first responders and spending my career in healthcare, I’ve witnessed the extraordinary sacrifices made by those who dedicate their lives to caring for and protecting others. I’ve also experienced the heartbreaking loss of respected colleagues whose lives were impacted by trauma, burnout, and mental health struggles. Those experiences shaped not only my career — they shaped my purpose.

Train Your Brain Wellness was created to provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care for individuals from all walks of life while maintaining a special commitment to first responders, corrections, healthcare professionals, veterans, shift workers, and the families who support them.

As a small expression of gratitude, we proudly offer a 10% Professional Appreciation Courtesy on cash-pay clinical services for first responders, healthcare professionals, active military, veterans, and their immediate family members.
